Myron Markevych: "Sparring with Lechia will benefit the Ukrainian national team"

Honoured Coach of Ukraine Myron Markevych shared his expectations of this match.

- In my opinion, this sparring match is necessary. Firstly, coach Serhii Rebrov will have the opportunity to see how fit the players he has called up for the training camp are. Secondly, he will have the opportunity to review those players who were invited to the national team for the first time or who had insufficient playing practice. Thirdly, it is possible that Serhii Rebrov will want to test the effectiveness of some of the tactical schemes he is going to use in the decisive Euro 2024 qualifier against the Italians, which will take place on 20 November in Leverkusen. Of course, it would be great if the sparring partner acted in the style of the Azzurri's Scuadra, but it's up to us to decide.

And one more thing you should definitely pay attention to. It is very important that there are no injuries in Gdansk, so I would advise our guys to be as focused as possible," Markevich said.
