The qualifying match for the European Championship demonstrated the determination and skill of both teams, which led to an exciting spectacle. The first half started with high intensity, with both teams looking to take control of the game. The first event did not happen immediately: in the 8th minute Bulgarian V. Antov received a yellow card. Antov. However, two minutes later, Hungarian M. Adam scored a magnificent goal, giving his team the first advantage. Bulgaria did not stop there, and in the 24th minute S. Delev equalised the score. Delev levelled the score. The game continued to be tense, with both sides fighting for the advantage. In the 37th minute Antov, who already had a yellow card, received a red card and Bulgaria were left with ten men.
In the remaining time of the first half both teams continued to act aggressively, resulting in a yellow card for Hungary's E. Botka in the 42nd minute. Just before the break Bulgaria made their first substitution: I. Chochev replaced Z. Atanasov. The second half started with the same enthusiasm as the first. In the 44th minute Hungarian player M. Kerkez received a yellow card, and in the 57th minute - the second, which led to a red card, and the Hungarians remained ten men. Soon after, the Hungarians made their first substitution, replacing K. Czobot with Z. Nagy. As the match progressed, both sides continued to fight hard, creating chances but lacking the finishing touch. Bulgarians M. Minchev and A. Kolev were substituted in the 72nd minute, followed by Hungarians M. Adam and A. Nemeth in the 74th minute. In the 79th minute Bulgaria were awarded a penalty, which was successfully converted by K. Despodov, giving his team the lead. However, the excitement did not end there. In the 81st minute Bulgarian Z. Atanasov received a yellow card, and Hungary made two substitutions - L. Nego for D. Gazdag and E. Botzag. Gazdag and E. Botka for Z. Kalmar - in the 81st and 82nd minutes respectively. Not wanting to be left out, Bulgaria also made two substitutions - K. Despodov for G. Rusev and S. Delev for H. Ivanov - in the 81st and 82nd minutes respectively. Delev for H. Ivanov - in the 83rd minute. As time went on, tension grew, and in the 86th minute Bulgarian A. Kolev received a yellow card. Kolev received a yellow card. When the match was coming to an end, in the 90th minute there was an unexpected turn. To the bewilderment of the Hungarian fans, A. Petkov scored an own goal, levelling the score again. With no goals scored in added time, the match ended in a thrilling 2:2 draw. The match between Bulgaria and Hungary demonstrated the competitive spirit and determination of both teams. Despite the fact that the teams played with ten men, they demonstrated exceptional skill and resilience throughout the game. This exciting match will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the most colourful matches of the European Championship qualifiers.
