Lechia Gdańsk midfielder Maksim Hlan spoke about his impressions of the match against the Ukrainian national team, which took place in Poland in a "closed mode" and ended in a 2-0 victory for the Ukrainians.
- "It was a pleasure to play against such an opponent, although we did not have the initiative in this match. The national team is a balanced team, with strong players who demonstrated their high level.
Did I have my moments? Yes, I had a few moments, I ran into the penalty area with the ball, I could have made it worse, but something was missing. There was also a long-range shot, but the ball went over the crossbar.
Did you communicate with Rebrov? After the game, the coach was concentrating on analysing the game with his players, so we just thanked each other for the game. It was a great honour for me to meet him. I learned a lot from Rebrov, I liked his style of play.
Who is the most memorable player from the collection? I like Sudakov's game. I like his extraordinary approach to tactical play. But the team, as I said above, is balanced and it's hard to single out anyone. I talked to Nazarina, we played with him in Karpaty, then in Zorya. I am very glad that he took his chance and is regularly called up to the national team.
I think the national team players are in good physical condition. All the guys have game practice in their clubs. But you have to be mentally prepared for the game with the Italians. We only need a victory for the whole of Ukraine, especially at a time like this," Khlan said.
