Viktor Tsygankov: "We want to make Ukrainians happy"

Ukraine midfielder Viktor Tsygankov spoke about preparations for the decisive Euro 2024 qualifying game with the Italians.

Viktor Tsygankov

- This is the last match of the group stage. We clearly understand that to reach the European Championships we have to make a feat. We will do everything to make it happen. For us and for our country. In the times we live in, participation in the European Championship will be very important. It is a great tournament and we want to play in it. Our people have been suffering for months, and we want to give Ukrainians a few happy moments.

Two months ago, there was already such a match. Italy played at home, at the San Siro, a huge stadium with 60,000 fans. Then we faced difficulties and it became a lesson for us. Now we have our last chance, and we want to win, to reach the European Championship.

The Italian national team is under more pressure because they represent a great country, a nation that usually plays in such major tournaments. They are the reigning European champions. But we know very well how important this qualification is for our nation and our people. We want to make Ukrainians happy, to make them proud of us," TuttoMercatoWeb quoted the Ukrainian as saying.
