Belgium defeat Azerbaijan in European Championship qualifying match In a one-sided match, the Belgium national football team confirmed their superiority by beating Azerbaijan in a European Championship qualifying match played at the Roy Baudouin Stadium. As a result, Belgium won a confident 5-0 victory, demonstrating their skill and prowess on the football field. From the very beginning of the game, Belgium asserted their superiority. Already in the 17th minute Romelu Lukaku gave Belgium the lead with a successful goal. Lukaku continued to create problems for the Azerbaijani defence, demonstrating his high qualification. His scoring streak continued in the 26th, 30th and 37th minutes, which allowed Belgium to consolidate the lead. However, the match was not without drama. In the 24th minute, Azerbaijan's E. Israfilov received a yellow card, and a few minutes later - a second one, which led to a red card and a reduced squad. Despite having fewer players, Azerbaijan showed resilience and determination. At half-time, the team made two substitutions: A. Isayev and E. Kafarkuliyev, trying to change the dynamics of the game. Belgium also made two substitutions, replacing Lukaku and A. Vranx with L. Openda and Y. Thielemans.
In the second half, Belgium maintained control of the game and both teams made additional substitutions to maintain form and change tactics. Belgium introduced J. Bakayoko and A. Salemakers instead of Y. Carrasco and A. Theate, while Azerbaijan decided to introduce R. Dadashov and R. Ahmadov into the game. Dadashov and R. Ahmadzada instead of K. Diniev and K. Aliyev. The time passed, and the intensity of the game remained high. In the last minutes of the game Azerbaijan's E. Mahmudov and Belgians J. Vertonghen and A. Al Dakhil were introduced into the game. However, the last word was left for Belgian L. Trossard, who scored a goal in the 90th minute, formalising the victory of his team. The match ended with a dominant game of the Belgians, who confidently won the match. Despite all efforts, Azerbaijan could not match Belgium in individual play and overall team cohesion. This result confirms Belgium's position as one of the strongest teams in international football. Thanks to the sensational form of striker Romelu Lukaku, Belgium's prospects in the European Championship qualifying tournament look promising. As they leave the pitch, both teams can celebrate a convincing victory, while Azerbaijan will have to regroup and analyse their actions in order to get back to new results in the upcoming matches.
