Horta took his chance in the 66th minute and increased Portugal's lead to 2-0. In the remaining minutes Iceland had a tough fight ahead of them. In the course of the match Portugal decided to make one more substitution: in the 75th minute Otavio replaced Vitinho. This substitution was aimed at giving fresh energy and maintaining Portugal's dominance on the pitch. In the closing stages of the match, Portugal's Joao Felix received a yellow card in the 84th minute, adding to the growing number of penalties. Both teams made further substitutions, with Joao Felix being replaced by Bruma and J. Cancelo being replaced by J. Neves. Despite Iceland's attempts to get back into the game, Portugal's strong defence proved impenetrable and the match ended 2-0 in Portugal's favour. The game between Portugal and Iceland showcased the intensity and skill of both teams. Portugal's clinical play and strong defence proved too difficult for Iceland. With the win Portugal continues their successful qualification campaign for the European Championship, while Iceland needs to regroup and strategise for the upcoming matches.
