In the same minute a penalty was awarded to San Marino, which gave them hope of salvaging a draw. F. Berardi stepped up to the striking position, but unfortunately failed to convert the penalty. Despite the late drama, the match ended with Finland winning 2-1. The Finnish team showed their superiority in the game with some clinical attacks, while San Marino fought valiantly but failed to win in the decisive moments.
