On 20 November in Leverkusen there was a Euro 2024 qualification match between the national teams of Ukraine and Italy (0:0). After the match the defender of the blue-yellow Ilya Zabarny commented on the game as follows:
"Penalty on Mudryk? I, honestly speaking, did not see this moment. It seemed that there was, but the referee made such a decision. I think it's 50/50. But the penalty was not given, it happens.
I hoped that the refereeing would be normal. Maybe sometimes it seemed that the referee was helping the Italians, but I didn't see anything so serious.
Fantastic support from the stands. Very emotional moment when you see Ukrainian flags, how people support the national team. I understand that everyone wants us to play in our stadiums. But it is very important that people have the opportunity to come and support the team. Thank you to the fans," Zabarnyy said.
