It was important for us to give each other the right suggestions. For me, as a defender, it was important to synchronise between the defenders and midfielders, because this is the Italian national team: if you don't get somewhere and do something wrong, you are immediately punished. This was the most important thing.
I won't say that we lacked skill, but don't forget who we played against. Italy has always been famous for its good defence. Of course, it was difficult to find chances, and when we did, we failed to convert them. But I am proud of my team, I am happy to be with the guys every day.
As for the possible penalty, I did not see the episode. But Barella said that the ball was played first and then the leg. The referee said there was no penalty. If they have VAR and they don't give a penalty, then I think there was no penalty.
