The composition of the baskets in the draw for the final part of Euro 2024

After the Euro 2024 qualifiers concluded yesterday, the composition of the baskets ahead of the draw for the final part of the tournament, which will take place on 2 December in Hamburg, has been decided.

We would like to remind you that 24 national teams will take part in Euro 2024. All of them before the draw for the group stage of the tournament will be divided into four baskets - six teams in each. Accordingly, the draw will result in the formation of six groups - four teams in each.

According to the regulations, the first basket was formed by Germany (as the host country of the European Championship), as well as the best five teams from among those who won their Euro-2024 qualifying groups. The remaining five qualifying group winners were placed in the second basket, with Austria, as the best of the teams that finished second in their groups, keeping them company.

A further nine 'second' teams, in order of their performance in the Euro 2024 qualifying cycle, filled the positions in the third and fourth baskets in succession. On top of that, the fourth basket will be completed by the three winners of the Euro 2024 play-offs for the Nations League quota (their names will not be known at the time of the draw - the play-offs will take place in March next year).

The composition of the baskets in the draw for the final part of Euro-2024 is as follows

Basket 1: Germany, Portugal, France, Spain, Belgium, England.

Basket2: Hungary, Turkey, Romania, Denmark, Albania, Austria.

Basket3: Netherlands, Scotland, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic.

Basket4: Italy, Serbia, Switzerland and the three winners of the Euro 2024 selection play-offs.
