Kostiantyn Vivcharenko: "I haven't played the whole match for a long time"

Dynamo Kyiv defender Kostiantyn Vivcharenko commented toSuspilneon the victory of the Ukrainian national team in the U-21 Euro 2025 qualifying match against Azerbaijan (1-0).

- "I expected the Azerbaijanis to run forward from the first minutes, but they stepped back. We had a lot of space and chances in the first half, especially in the opening minutes. It's good that we scored in this period. We, the full-backs, were asked to make flank passes. Did Kucheryavyi have a chance that he didn't take? I was trying to get him to score, but he didn't. I wanted to give him an assist.

I'm very happy to have played the whole match, I haven't played for a long time. I am grateful to the coaching staff for their trust and, of course, I am very happy for the victory. Sitting is harder than playing. There are different emotions, so it's better to play. There is someone to evaluate my game, there is a coaching staff. I did my best, what the coaching staff asked me to do.
