Former Lokomotiv team manager Dmitry Balashov in an interview with RosSMI told how Aliev's partner stole a $30,000 watch from him:

"In 2010, after one of the matches, an expensive watch was stolen from Aliev in the Lokomotiv locker room. Then the thief was not found. But a while later I found out who did it. I will not give the name. Let it remain a secret forever.

Yes, it was a footballer, one of our own. It was a young player who had a small salary. The guy and two others of the same age, who were pulled from the double to the base, all the money wasted in slot machines. I think that's why he decided to steal it. The watch was worth $30,000," Balashov said.
