Former AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini has revealed that the club tried to sign Lionel Messi.
The 55-year-old Italian did not specify when exactly, but most likely we are talking about 2021, when the Argentine left Barcelona as a free agent and then moved to PSG.
"We tried to sign Leo. I wanted to see him at the club, we called him, but after 10 days we realised it was just not possible. When I read that he could move even to Inter - I was scared. Such a footballer is a spectacle for everyone," Maldini said on the PoretCast podcast.
