Neville: "Alexander-Arnold is playing on the same level as De Bruyne, and he's just a defender"

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville praised Trent Alexander-Arnold's performance in the Premier League match against Manchester City in the 13th round of the English Championship (1-1).

"I have criticised him at times, but he is still a great footballer who can hit the ball in such a way that you just don't see the moment of impact.

Manchester City didn't have De Bruyne, who is a world-class player in terms of ball possession and passing, because of injury. Trent is on the same level as him, and he is only a right-back! Yes, he's not a classic right-back, but he nominally plays there. He just needs to be a bit more serious about defending, but in the match against City he was very good defensively," Neville was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
