Former Metalist player and coach Oleksandr Kucher expressed his opinion on midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk and goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.
- Did Krasnikov also have a hand in the path of young Mudryk?
- Of course, Yevhen Alekseevich created, together with the club's owner Oleksandr Yaroslavskyi, the academy of Kharkiv Metalist, where Mudryk started. The expectation was that Kharkiv boys would play for Metalist. But after Kurchenko took over the club, Metalist collapsed. And the pupils ran away.
- So, if Serhii Kurchenko hadn't interfered in the club's development in 2013, would Mudryk and Andrii Lunin, the academy's pupils, have started their careers at Metalist?
- I think so. If I'm not mistaken, Mudryk first joined Dnipro and then Shakhtar. If everything had remained as it was, Mudryk and Lunin could have become Metalist players.
