Roman Hryhorchuk: "You'll laugh, but we're training for a minority game"

Roman Hryhorchuk, the head coach of Chornomorets Odesa, has admitted that his team trains with a minority. According to the coach, this is due to the regular red cards that the referees show to his subordinates.

"It's very difficult to organise a game so that the sending off doesn't affect it. You will laugh, but we are working on it. After a few suspensions, we've been working a lot on theoretical work to strengthen our power play. We play half of the games in the minority, so we need to train it.

How did you do it today? Of course, the sending off affected the game, but it's hard to say to what extent, because you saw how many chances we created with ten men. We had three or four opportunities to score. I can say that today's sending off affected our game to the least extent, compared to other matches when we played in the minority," said Hryhorchuk after the 2-5 match against Dnipro-1 in the 15th round of the Ukrainian championship, in which Chornomorets midfielder Artur Avagimyan was sent off in the first half.
