In the 37th minute, Milan managed to equalise when Samuel Chukwueze hit the net, much to the delight of their fans. The first half ended with the score at 1-1. Shortly after the start of the second half, AC Milan made their first substitution, with M. Thiaw replacing R. Krunic. Borussia Dortmund quickly followed suit, replacing N. Schlotterbeck with S. Krunic. Schlotterbeck for S. Ozkan in the 55th minute.
In an attempt to boost their attacking options, Borussia Dortmund made another substitution, replacing D. Malen with K. Adeyemi just a minute later. Adeyemi just a minute later. The German team regained the lead in the 59th minute when Jamie Baino Gittens struck the opposition's goal. Milan's hopes of getting back into the game were dashed when Karim Adeyemi scored in the 69th minute, extending Borussia Dortmund's lead to 3-1. Milan made a double substitution in the 77th minute, with S. Chukwueze and J. Adli replacing K. Traore and L. Jovic. In an attempt to consolidate the victory Borussia Dortmund made a fourth substitution: on 79 minutes M. Reus was replaced by J. Brandt. Near the end of the match, Borussia Dortmund's Emre Can received a yellow card in the 90th minute, which added another moment of tension. Despite the late card, Borussia Dortmund managed to hold on to their lead and secure a well-deserved 3-1 victory over AC Milan. Although the specific date, time and round of this match is not named, both teams showed tremendous strength and determination throughout the game.
