Acting head coach of Luhansk Zorya Yuriy Koval said what he expects from his team's away match against Belgian Gent in the fifth round of the Conference League group stage.
"We are expecting a serious match, because we had time to watch not only the opponent's games in the record, but also the meeting of "Ghent" against the leader of the Belgian championship. The game was very enjoyable. There was a full stadium, both teams fought from the first to the last minute. Unfortunately, as a result, we rarely play with full stands or with fans at all. And if there are fans, more often than not they do not support our team.
On the theory we told the players that Lugansk was one of the most visited cities in Ukraine in terms of fan loyalty. We remembered that our mascot is a black and white cat, and a cat is known to find a way out of any situation, no matter how difficult it is. This is the symbol of Zorya.
We understand that the game will be very important. In terms of composition, mobility and experience, "Gent" is an experienced team, both in European cups and in the championship. I hope that the guys understand this, and we will be able to play decently. "Gent" is a team that will create pressure, also for the reason that it plays at home. I am sure that we will have chances to get a positive result," Koval said at the pre-match press conference.
