Yuriy Bereza, Honorary President of Dnipro-1, congratulated the club on its anniversary.
"29 November is a special day every year. For me, it is like a child's birthday, and the club is our common child. It was on this date that the life of an ordinary team of friends began, and it gradually gained momentum that impressed many people. I remember that back then, on 29 November 2015, we, like-minded people and big football fans, were full of huge ambitions and plans. Many people doubted and even mocked us. But I said that in a few years, SC Dnipro-1 would play in the Champions League. Some people twirled their fingers at their temples - and if these people are reading these lines now, I am very pleased. Unfortunately, our hometown of Dnipro has not yet seen any European Cup matches of Dnipro-1 because of the damned racists. But I am confident that soon, thanks to our brave soldiers, the Dnipro Arena will gather full stands for an international game. And we will all celebrate our common victory of Ukraine!
I believe that to go from an amateur team to a Champions League qualifying club in 8 years is an outstanding achievement. I would like to thank everyone who helped us on this journey: fans, club staff, and teammates. I remember how our first coach, Dmytro Mykhailenko, believed in this project, how Igor Jovicevic gave it a new impetus, even though our paths unexpectedly parted... There have already been many moments, matches, achievements that we can be proud of in a short but at the same time long 8-year journey. And I am sure that the leadership position in the championship of the current team under the leadership of Yuriy Maksymov is a good prerequisite for new achievements of SC Dnipro-1!
Happy birthday, my favourite club! Happy holiday to all Dnipro fans!" reads a statement on the official website of Dnipro-1.
