On 30 November, in a match of the group round of the Conference League, Zorya players lost heavily to Gent - 1:4 and went down. Former Zorya and Karpaty goalkeeper Andriy Tlumak shared his impressions of the clash in Belgium.
- When Zorya players took to the pitch at the stadium in Ghent, they already knew about Maccabi's victory in Iceland, so now everything depended only on them: if they won, there was still a chance to get further ahead.
- And how were the Luhansk side going to achieve this?
- "Zorya" almost for the first time adopted the game in five defenders, which according to the coaching staff was to ensure the inviolability of their possession, and during quick counterattacks to try to hit the hosts' goal. However, from the very first minutes there were doubts that something would come out of it, because I did not notice the Luhansk side's proper dedication. And without it, it is impossible to challenge a more skilled opponent.
- I had the impression that Luhansk did not draw any conclusions from the failure of their stopper in previous matches.
- Let's at least recall how the Citizens scored their third goal, taking advantage of the fact that the visitors' defenders were in the role of bystanders. But worst of all, the Luhansk side lacked team play, with everyone pulling the blanket in their own direction.
- "Zorya" looked inert and doomed.
- We are convinced that the coaches are not to blame for Zorya's current woes. It seems that some destructive process is coming from the middle of the team. And it can not but surprise, because the Luhansk side has a rather capable squad.
- What is the best medicine for the Luhansk team to recover?
- The best doctor here is victory. But with such an attitude as in Belgium, Zorya cannot avoid trouble on the domestic arena.
