Former AC Milan sporting director Paolo Maldini has spoken about the Rossoneri's attempts to sign Lionel Messi.
"We tried to sign Messi when he became a free agent and left Barcelona in August. We got in touch and tried to reach an agreement, but it remained an idea... simply because Leonardo (PSG sporting director - ed.) told me that PSG were quicker and had already negotiated the signing of Messi," La Repubblica quoted Maldini as saying.
