Spendi in an attempt to secure the victory. In the end, both teams showed great skill and determination, but neither team was able to break down the opponent's defence. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with both Genoa and Empoli picking up a point each. It was a hard fought game, demonstrating the competitive nature of Serie A football.
