Dnipro-1 head coach Yuriy Maksymov commented on his team's 1-2 defeat to Vorskla Poltava in yesterday's match of the 16th round of the Ukrainian championship.
"We scored a quick goal. And the instruction was to cover Vorskla's defenders, but something went wrong. I didn't understand the guys what happened... They let the defenders keep the ball, launch attacks, but they went down and gave the opponent a chance to control the ball. Vorskla players felt that they could play and then the game turned the other way. Well, this is football. We will move on.
Each of the guys goes out on the pitch to play. I'm happy with the players we have in the team, but football is like that, something went wrong. We were winning, everything was fine, but after the goal we gave the ball away, sat on the defensive and conceded two goals.
Let's just say that today was not our day. Before this meeting, the guys played as we planned. We will talk to them about why it happened today. We have another away match ahead. We will adjust the line-up, maybe the guys have already got hooked somewhere. We will think about it," Maksymov said after the match against Vorskla.
