Former Ukrainian national team player Artem Fedetskyi spoke about the activities of Vitalii Kvartsianyi, president of the Volyn Football Association.
Artem Fedetsky- What I see here is a disaster. Here, the head of the federation, Kvartsyanyi, was re-elected for a third term, although we had a candidate. A man who was ready to "work", to roll up his sleeves. He was registered as a candidate, but he was not even allowed to speak about his programme. They came up with some kind of status, something else. I'm sorry, it's complete bullshit, they're not even interested in listening to the man. But the man had goals, and so did the whole team. I was there, and so was Taras Mikhalik. But still. It seems to me that this is temporary. If a person works for a certain period of time in a position, he or she should make some kind of report on what he or she has done. Kvartsianyi hasn't built a single artificial pitch in 10 years.
I asked him this question directly, and he said: "I am not a developer". I told him: "So you shouldn't be building, you should be a communicator between private business, between the regional state administration and various investors. You have to be interested in the Volyn region's development in terms of children's infrastructure.
And then there will be people. As far as I know, there are many people who are ready to develop. But they are not sure whom to trust. In this case, it is clear that no one will work with Kvartsyan. This structure has to change, young and ambitious people with a modern vision and understanding of what young players need have to come in. And these are the conditions. Conditions, qualified coaches - then children's football will develop differently.
There must be a certain structure of managers who know how to distribute and direct it properly. The programme should not be for a month or two, but look ahead for several years, at least 3-5. If the players have good conditions, then the national team will be replenished with players who are noticed by European giants. Not isolated cases like Mudryk, Sudakov, Trubin. It will be systematic, many clubs will have a queue of European teams," said Fedetsky.
