Denys Kuzyk: "Before joining Kryvbas, I had to go to the training camp with Dynamo"

Defender Denys Kuzyk, a graduate of Dynamo Kyiv, recalled how he became a player of his current team, Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih, this summer and also recalled the recent match against the White and Blues (2-0) in the 13th round of the current Ukrainian championship.

- How did the story of your move to Kryvbas develop in general?

- At that time, I had a valid contract with Dynamo. I was supposed to go to the training camp, and just before I left, they said I wasn't going. I called my agent, and he started looking for options. After a while, I received an offer from Kryvbas. I agreed because I knew some of the guys on the team. I was assured that the team had ambitious goals. That's how I ended up in Kryvyi Rih.

- Apart from Kryvbas, did you have options with other clubs?

- I went to Zorya's training camp with Yatsyk and Bol. I passed the training camp, but something didn't work out. It didn't work out with Vorskla.

- Did Dynamo reserve the right to buy you from Kryvbas?

- No, they didn't. Today I am a full-fledged player of Kryvbas.

- You have been in the Dynamo structure since 2015. Was the recent match (0:2) a matter of principle for you?

- I may have had some thoughts before the game. I go into every match with the best possible attitude, regardless of the opponent.

- Was it difficult to prepare after the gruelling match with Polissia (1:1)?

- We had time to recover and properly prepare for Dynamo, but everything did not go according to our plan.

- Did Dynamo surprise you in any way after the coaching change?

- We were preparing for Dynamo, just like the rest of the opponents. Before the sending off, they couldn't do anything about our pressure. Once we ran out on the counterattack, the game changed dramatically.

- How would you assess the episode with Beskorovainyi's sending off?

- I think there was no direct red card. If I were the referee, I would have given a yellow and watched VAR. Vanat took the ball on the backboard, flew to the other side and he was already falling by inertia or realised that he was losing the episode. It was something like that.

- After the match, did you have a word with your ex-teammates?

- We've come a long way together, we maintain friendly relations. We talked to Dyachuk, Vanat, Brazhko before the game. After the game, the mood was not the same (Smiles).

- Tell us, how did the boy from Pidvolochysk end up at Dynamo?

- At a tournament in Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi, a scout saw me and invited me to watch. I was very happy about that. It took me a while to get to Dynamo.
