This weekend there are matches of the 17th round of the Ukrainian championship of the season-2023/24, which closes the programme of the tournament in 2023. Dynamo Kyiv and Obolon met in one of them on Monday, 11 December. The match was held in Kyiv at the Dynamo stadium named after Valeriy Lobanovskiy.

The match started in a relatively equal struggle, but in the 13th minute of the match the situation for Obolon became more complicated: Vovkun decided to prevent Vanat one-on-one with Kichak at the cost of a last hope foul and expectedly received a red card. Thus, the Brewers were left in the minority, in fact, for the whole game.

And almost immediately Dynamo almost did not realise their numerical advantage: on the 20th minute of the match after a corner kick Vanat made a header in a fall from about five metres, but missed the target - the ball whistled a few centimetres from the bar. And on 28 minutes the Bilo-Syni were even closer to success: Kabaev brilliantly passed Vanat one-on-one with Kichak, but the Dynamo striker failed to beat the goalkeeper.

Later Dynamo continued to possess full advantage, but to the honour of Obolon, it should be said that they kept the defence quite reliably. And the Bilo-Syni lacked a bit of inventiveness in their attacking actions. As a result, in the remaining time of the first half Dynamo had no clear goalscoring opportunities, and the teams went to the break with zeros on the scoreboard.

In the second half Dynamo's advantage became even more tangible, Obolon was literally locked in its own half of the pitch, and shots on Kichak's goal were made almost continuously. But in some cases the ball flew past the target, and in other cases the Brewers' goalkeeper played brilliantly.

However, in the 67th minute of the match Dynamo still achieved their goal: Andriyevsky intercepted the ball in the central zone of Obolon's half of the pitch, played the ball to Benito, who, breaking into the penalty area from the right, sent the ball between Kichak's legs - 1:0.

This goal had no impact on the game, but then Dynamo still lost a bit of momentum. However, by that moment about 80 minutes had already been played, so it is quite expected that having spent extremely intensive such a time interval, the Bilo-Syni got tired.

In any case, it did not prevent Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's wards not only to bring the match to a victorious conclusion, but also to develop their success - it was Vanat on the 89th minute of the match who converted a penalty awarded for a foul on Buyalskiy - 2:0, the victory of the Bilo-Syni.

After the played matches Dynamo has 28 points in its asset and occupies the 5th place in the championship standings, 6 points behind the leading Kryvbas, but having three matches in reserve (Dynamo vs Zorya, Dynamo vs Veres, Minay vs Dynamo).

This is the end of Dynamo's match programme in 2023. The Ukrainian Championship goes on winter break and will resume at the end of February with the matches of the 18th round (the base day of the round is 24 February). "White-Blue" in their first game next year will play away with Kharkiv "Metalist 1925".
