Oleksandr Shovkovskyi: "We need to act in a cooler and calmer manner"

Dynamo Kyiv head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi commented on the 2-0 victory over Obolon in the Ukrainian Premier League matchday 17 on the TV channel.

- It was a difficult game. Recently, we have always had difficult matches with Obolon. I understand that they tune in to us extra. We understood that it would be difficult, we knew what they play with. In the first half, the guys made a few mistakes, although we warned them and told them how we planned to play. We had some work to do, we could score after a corner and after a penalty when there was a penalty. We had to bring the game to a more relaxed pace. I understand the guys, both my own and Obolon's - no one wants to lose.

- How different was this game from the previous one, when the opponent met Dynamo at a fairly high level?

- Every coach and every team works on certain things. We saw that Obolon plays with vertical passes to the strikers. But somewhere our central defenders were a bit timid. That's why we didn't do well. Apparently, we were a little bit constrained by responsibility and the desire to win. We were in a hurry. I think we need to be cooler and calmer.

- Are you satisfied with Dynamo's performance in the first part of the season?

- We started with wins, then we had a setback, and we ended with four wins again. Yes, in waves. If we talk about the ending, yes, we are satisfied. We scored maximum points. But in general, no. Definitely not. We failed at a certain stage.
