FIFA President Gianni Infantino has responded to the beating of the chief referee of the Turkish Super League match between Ankaragücü and Rizespor.

The events after the Turkish league match are completely unacceptable and have no place in our sport or society. Referees, players, fans and officials must be safe to enjoy the game. I call on the relevant authorities to take measures to ensure law and order at all levels," Infantino wrote on social media.
