The general meeting of UPL participants considered the UPL TV project as a linear channel with international distribution with the participation of foreign OTT partners, including Setanta and DAZN, the TaToTake telegram channel reports.
"The project of broadcasting the matches of the Ukrainian championship includes:
- distribution of the channel in Ukraine and abroad;
- a TV channel registered in Ukraine for broadcasting via the Internet, creation of its own multi-platform OTT service with broadcasts and additional content.
As of today, 10 clubs have voted in favour. "Rukh, Minaj, Kryvbas abstained, while Dynamo and Dnipro-1 did not participate in the vote. Representatives of Zorya did not take part in the event.
According to the UPL representatives, with such a number of participating teams, the project will be self-sustaining, and if all teams agree, they will receive some income in the first six months," the statement said.
