It's official. UEFA has fined the UAF and penalised the Ukraine national team with partial closure of the stands at the next hom

UEFA's disciplinary body made a number of decisions yesterday, one of which concerned the match of the final round of the group stage of the Euro 2024 qualifying cycle between Ukraine and Italy, which took place on 20 November in Leverkusen, Germany, and was nominally a home game for the Ukrainian side.

According to the verdict, the UAF was fined €20,000 "for the racist behaviour of fans" at the match. At the same time, the Ukraine national team is punished by partial closure of the stands at its next home match: at least 5 thousand seats should be left free.

Recall that the Ukraine national team can play its next home match on 26 March as part of the final play-off for the right to enter the final part of Euro 2024: for this purpose, the "blue-yellow" in the semi-finals (21 March) need to beat away the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Interestingly, the Bosnian side also received a punishment from UEFA following their national team's last match - "for the discriminatory behaviour of their fans and setting off fireworks". In this case, the Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in addition to a fine of 40 thousand euros, was banned from selling tickets to its fans for the next away match of the national team. That is, this sanction will not affect the mentioned match against Ukraine, which is a home match for the Bosnians.
