Oleksandr Sopko: "The Italian team is objectively stronger than us, but..."

Famous football expert Oleksandr Sopko reflected on whether Italy's referees helped Ukraine to win at the suggestion of Alexander Cheferin.

- I think there would have been support for Italy even without Cheferin's words. The rank of the team, its authority in world football, the respect of the fans - the Italian team has always had this. Another thing is that Cheferin probably said it without thinking, wanting to emphasise his respect for the Italians once again. And here it was presented as a conspiracy. It would be another matter if the Italian national team were a team weaker than Ukraine, then there would still be objective reasons to blame UEFA for something. But the Italian team is objectively stronger than us," the expert said.
