Walker: Man City still need to win titles for a while to be considered one of the top clubs in the world

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker believes that the Citizens have not yet reached the level of Manchester United. On Friday, Pep Guardiola's men could win the FIFA Club World Cup for the first time in their history.

"I don't think we will be seen differently for a few more years, at least. To achieve what Liverpool and Manchester United have achieved... They have done it year after year, for many years.

Of course, when you have the title of the best club in the world, it is a huge achievement, but the guys know that we are just starting to build this club. I hope we are at the beginning of a new generation.

To do what Manchester United and the likes of them have done, you need to have your own Ryan Giggs, who has won the title 13 times. We are very proud of what we have achieved, but we have won the title five times in six years. And to be considered one of the top clubs in the world, we need to do it a little bit longer," Walker was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

Last season, Manchester City repeated the unique achievement of Man United in 1999 by winning the treble (FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League).
