Hwang Hee-Chan scored his second goal of the match, showing his finishing ability to increase the Wolves' lead to 3-1. The first half was drawing to a close, tension began to build and in the 43rd minute Brentford player K. Norgaard received a yellow card for a rough challenge.
At half-time both managers made substitutions in an attempt to turn the tide of the match in their favour. Wolves replaced J. Bellegarde for the impressive Hwang Hee Chan, while Brentford released Y. Yarmolyuk in place of M. Damsgaard. The second half started with M. Kilman receiving a yellow card for a careless kick in the 54th minute. In the 65th minute Wolves made two more substitutions: P. Sarabia came on in place of T. Doyle and N. Semedo came on in place of M. Doherty. Brentford responded with a substitution of their own, replacing M. Rorslev Rasmussen with M. Jensen. Despite all Brentford's attempts to get back into the game, the Wolves had the last word. In the 79th minute, J. Bellegarde scored a goal, sealing a deserved victory for his team. In the 80th minute the Wolves manager made the last substitution, replacing R. Ait Nouri with J. Bueno as the visitors looked to consolidate their lead. Brentford also made two late substitutions, replacing J. Wyss with M. Olano. Wyss for M. Olakigbe and C. Lewis-Potter for M. Pirt-Harris in the 86th minute. Having failed to score any more goals in the final minutes, the referee blew the final whistle, leaving Wolves deserved winners of the Premier League match. This match demonstrated Wolves' attacking prowess and their ability to capitalise on their chances. On the other hand, Brentford need to regroup and analyse their game in order to eliminate similar defensive lapses in future meetings. Overall, the match turned out to be exciting for the fans, and the Wolves proved to be a dominant force and rightfully won all three points.
