Ben White: "A bit careless with the ball at times. However, he should have made a productive pass to Jesús and made very few mistakes in terms of defence. Score 6."
William Saliba: "Plays well at the back. Can hardly be blamed for the goal from the standard or the first goal West Ham scored that night. Was close to scoring himself. Score 6."
Gabriel: "Got into a terrible mix-up with Zinchenko on the first goal. He's fine, but it's a night he won't remember fondly. Rated 6.
Zinchenko: "Another lapse in defence and this time it cost Arsenal the points. His mistake with Gabriel led to a missed goal. He played insecurely in his own penalty area. Now the Ukrainian is in poor form. Score 5".
Declan Rice: "For the most part played well in defence and in the centre of midfield. Covered well when West Ham tried to counter-attack. Not always good in possession of the ball. Score 6."
Martin Edegaard: "Played superbly in the first half when the chances he created should have led to at least one goal. Continued to work in the second half, but his accuracy dropped off a bit in the final third. Score 7".
Leandro Trossard: "A really disappointing night for the Belgian. Having been in the starting line-up in the Championship for almost a month, he did little to really convince. Lacked confidence in the final third and shot inaccurately all night. Rated 5."
Bukayo Saka: "Started the game very brightly and could have scored in the first half if not for the bar. Continued to be a source of attacking threat in the second half but couldn't break through. Score 7".
Gabriel Jesus: "An evening summarising the pros and cons of the Brazilian. He was outstanding in building the attack, creating chances for Saka that no other number nine would have. However, when it came to capitalising on chances, Jesús missed two decent chances that really should have been enough to help Arsenal." Score 6".
Gabriel Martinelli: "Another relatively disappointing night for the Brazilian. He looks like he is struggling for confidence despite Arteta's claims to the contrary. Thought too much and was too weak in duelling. Rated 6".
