Oleg Fedorchuk: "The Super League will not be launched in the next 5-10 years"

Famous Ukrainian coach Oleg Fedorchuk commented on the latest developments around the so-called European Super League.

- Until now, UEFA has pursued a rather tough policy in European football. Now its position is not so unshakable. And national associations, such as the German, French or Italian ones, will be able to impose their position on UEFA. And it will be forced to listen to them. Otherwise, the associations will be free to go, as they say, on their own.

You see, the Super League project is an American model of sports commercialisation, like the NHL, NBA, etc. There, clubs do not leave the league and only make money. They want to introduce something similar in Europe. But this will not be done soon. Real Madrid, which supports the Super League project, has long-term sponsorship and advertising contracts. And if the club moves from the Champions League to the Super League, it could result in lawsuits and millions in losses. So, obviously, the Super League will not be launched in the next 5-10 years," Fedorchuk said.
