Barkley hit the net, giving the home side a glimmer of hope. Luton's late onslaught continued and they were rewarded in the 86th minute when E. Adebayo scored, setting up a tense finale. With minutes left on the clock, both teams threw caution to the wind and attacked relentlessly. Luton were desperate to equalise, while Chelsea were keen to hold on to their lead. In the final minutes of the match, the situation heated up to the limit: A. Disasi and M. Gusto received yellow cards for their involvement in a heated altercation. As a result, Luton's valiant efforts were not enough to finish the return leg. Chelsea managed to hold on to their slender lead and claimed a 3-2 victory.
