Manchester United head coach Eric ten Hag commented on the defeat in the match with Nottingham Forest (1:2) in the championship of England.
"The result is obvious. It's disappointing. We were losing 0:1, got back, showed a good game, but missed a counterattack. This defeat was unnecessary at all. We lost the match in the first half. We were not energetic enough and did not put enough effort.
Against "Aston Villa" we played well in the first half, but we conceded after standards.
Here we showed our best game in the second half. In the first we should have created a few chances but we didn't. We know that these results are below our standards.
We need to make the game stable and achieve more. The match lasts 90 minutes, we need to be involved in it from the first minute. We hope that many players will return to next year's squad and strengthen the team.
We know the reasons why nothing works.
No team can cope with the number of problems and injuries we have. But we still should have played better, there is roster depth. But when there are so many injuries, that depth is not enough," said ten Hag.
