The changes proved effective as Atletico continued to hold the lead and frustrate Sevilla. More drama unfolded in the 75th minute when Sevilla player I. Rakitic received a yellow card. Atletico sealed the victory in the 76th minute when A. Paredes headed the ball into the net, increasing the lead to 2-0.
