By and large, the first part of the 2023/2024 club season, which Ukraine midfielder Ruslan Malinowski spent at Italian side Genoa, can be called moderately successful for our player.
On the one hand, the midfielder took part in 17 of the Griffins' 20 matches during this period. This is a very good statistic. On the other hand, Ruslan made 11 appearances in the starting line-up. And although this figure also looks pretty decent, given the fact that Malinowski moved to Genoa from French side Marseille on a loan deal, our guy's performance is frankly unimpressive.
Two goals in two consecutive Serie A matches, against Frosinone and Empoli in late November and early December, and one assist in the league and the Cup - that's all the Ukrainian midfielder has done so far.
Genoa coach Alberto Gilardino has repeatedly spoken out in support of our player, which we hope will give him strength and confidence this year.
