Mario Zagallo died

Mario Zagallo, a former footballer and coach of the Brazilian national team, has died, according to the website of the Brazilian Football Confederation. He was 92 years old.

Zagallo played as a wing forward for América, Botafogo, Flamenga and the Brazilian national team. As a player he was twice world champion, won the Rio-São Paulo tournament and the Rio de Janeiro state championship with Botafogo.

He coached the national teams of Brazil, Kuwait, UAE and Saudi Arabia, as well as a number of Brazilian clubs. He won the 1970 World Cup as coach of the Brazilian national team at the age of 38, and in 1994 as national team co-ordinator and assistant head coach.

In 1998, the team under his leadership finished second at the World Cup. He also won the Confederations Cup and the America's Cup with the team. Under his leadership "Botafogo" in 1968 won the Brazilian championship.
Zagallo was the only one who won the World Cup 4 times. He is also the first to become a world champion as a player and as a coach.
