"I am delighted to be part of the club in this historic season. I will never forget the moments we have shared together," said the Spaniard.

In September, Mata signed a four-month contract with Vissel Kobe. He played just 10 minutes for the Japanese club against Sanfrecce Hiroshima.

At the end of the 2023 season, Vissel Kobe won the Japanese championship for the first time in history.
