Former Chornomorets midfielder Ivan Bobko analysed the performance of Odesa in the first part of the season for UPL TV.
- Chornomorets went into the break in 8th position in the UPL. How successful is this interim result for the team?
- It is difficult for me to assess this, because I am not the head coach of the team. Based on the game, I believe that Chornomorets deserved a much higher position. Unfortunately, due to various circumstances and refereeing mistakes, the team lost a lot of points, and that's why they are ranked eighth.
- How can you describe the style of football that Roman Hryhorchuk wants his team to play?
- The team strives to constantly dominate the field. Look at the way the guys work with the ball, how they play one-on-one, how they beat each other. Pay attention to the fact that the youngsters have not just grown up, but have started playing with such confidence. I am very impressed with Chornomorets' performance. I believe that the team has grown and moved forward a lot over the past year and a half, and they have great potential. I hope they will be able to realise it.
- The Odesa team has only one draw in 17 rounds. Is this a sign of uncompromising attitude?
- I will say one thing - Chornomorets always tries to play to win.
- Odesa failed to score in only 3 matches out of 16. What does this mean?
- The team plays attacking football, that's why we have such indicators.
- Which of Chornomorets' players stood out in the first part of the season?
- I can't single out anyone. I believe that the whole team has made a significant improvement. Look at the demand for the guys. Everyone is talking about Saliuk, Bagara, Varakuta, Putriya. Stogrin is having a very good season. It speaks volumes.
- What position do you see Chornomorets in at the end of the season?
- I always want Chornomorets to win and play in European competitions.
