As Sport Arena has learned, Ukrainian goalkeeper Oleksiy Shlyakotin has been granted residency status in Hong Kong. The 34-year-old footballer is preparing to apply for local citizenship.
Shlyakotin is a graduate of Dynamo. In Ukraine, the goalkeeper played for Chornomorets' double, after which he went to Poland. The goalkeeper played for Sosnowiec, Korona Kielce, and the Portuguese club Uniau Madeira.
In 2016, the Ukrainian moved to Hong Kong, where he played for several local clubs. Since October 2022, Shlyakotin has been representing Sham Shui Po.
This season, Oleksiy played six matches for the club in all competitions. The goalkeeper conceded 24 goals. Shlyakotin's team is in last place in the Hong Kong Premier League with one point in eight matches.
