The much-anticipated Serie A match between Genoa and Torino ended in a goalless draw, with both teams failing to score any goals. In the 82nd minute, Genoa made a second substitution, replacing A. Martin with R. Haps. The home side hoped that this tactical substitution would change their fortunes and lead to a late winning goal. Both teams continued to look to turn the tide, making tactical changes through substitutions. In the 83rd minute, Torino introduced K. Gigi into the game in place of S. Sazonov, and then V. Lazaro came on in place of M. Voevoda. Genoa also made two late substitutions in the 87th minute, bringing on S. Sabelli in place of A. Fogliacco and M. Badel in place of K. Strootman. Despite these late changes, neither team could find that elusive goal. The final whistle blew and a disappointing 0-0 draw appeared on the scoreboard. Although both teams battled valiantly, their efforts were undone by resolute defence and an inability to convert chances into goals. Although the match ended in a stalemate, the players showed their skill and determination on the pitch. Each team now needs to regroup and strategise for the upcoming matches in the hope of achieving more favourable results in Serie A.
