English side Newcastle have rejected the transfer of midfielder Calvin Phillips due to Manchester City's financial demands, The Telegraph reports.
According to the source, the Magpies wanted to rent the player until the end of the season, but Manchester City demanded too much rent and the amount of the Englishman's mandatory buyout in the summer.
As a reminder, Calvin Phillips joined Manchester City in the summer of 2022 for €49 million.
