Mbappe: "The football model is gradually turning into the NBA"

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe has spoken about increasing the number of matches in a season, comparing football to the NBA.

"We are approaching the NBA model of 70 matches per season. Personally, I don't mind playing so many games, but we won't be able to play well every time and give the public the expected spectacle.

In the NBA, players don't play every game, and franchises practice workload management. But if I decided today to say, "I'm tired, I'm not playing on Saturday," it wouldn't work. A spectator who pays for a ticket and maybe sees you only once a season wants to witness a performance worthy of the name, and that's fine.

However, this is a different method of management. I don't want to teach anyone, but we have to think together to achieve the best result and for the players, the spectators and the authorities to come together," GQ quoted Mbappe as saying.

Ага, особенно, например, с "потолком зарплат" и с тем, что самый перспективный достаётся самой слабой команде...))))
