Real Sociedad striker Umar Sadiq appears to have tried to deceive the coaching staff of the Nigerian national team taking part in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The 26-year-old forward left the national team's camp five days ago due to injury. The national team's doctors were sure that Sadiq would not be able to take part in any of the matches throughout the tournament.
However, yesterday Sadiq played in the Spanish Cup match against Osasuna (2-0). In the 73rd minute, the Nigerian forward came on, replacing Andre Silva.
According to the CAN regulations, Nigeria has the option of filing a complaint against Sadik with FIFA. Accordingly, he could face a suspension until the end of the African Cup of Nations.
