The UPL has registered its own TV channel and hopes to create a single TV pool before its launch

The National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting has registered the linear media company Premier League LLC. The regulator made the decision at a meeting on 18 January.

The company plans to launch the UPL-TV channel, which will broadcast using OTT and IPTV technologies. Representatives of the company said that the Ukrainian Premier League wants to unite all its member football clubs, create a single pool and broadcast football matches of the Ukrainian Football Championship on the newly created channel.

Oleg Chernysh, Deputy Chairman of the National Council, asked: "Have all the clubs come to an agreement?" However, representatives of the UPL said that they had not yet, but they hoped to have this agreement before the launch of the channel.

"UPL-TV will be broadcast on platforms and distributed to cable providers.

As a reminder, representatives of 12 Ukrainian Premier League clubs have decided that they are ready to cooperate with OTT services to broadcast matches of the Ukrainian championship in the 2023/24 season. The rights to the matches of the other four UPL clubs - Dynamo, Dnipro-1, Zorya and Rukh - remain with them, and they will sell them independently.
