Girona midfielder Viktor Tsygankov, who previously played for Dynamo Kyiv, spoke about his first season at the Spanish club.
"The head coach of "Girona" Michel Sanchez is a very emotional person. We play beautiful football, and this season has already become historic for us. We were all surprised when we started winning, but then we thought - why not? We need to achieve something more.
When I made my debut in the first match against Valencia, the players were playing table tennis an hour before the match. Playing in Ukraine, I was used to concentrating solely on football before matches, and they were joking, laughing. I have never met such an atmosphere anywhere. I think it plays an important role in our success," Tsygankov told The Daily Mail.
