Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo of Al Nasr Club in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has said he is disappointed with the globally popular Ballon d'Or and The Best awards.
"I think these awards are losing their credibility to some extent. We have to analyse the whole season. It doesn't mean Messi doesn't deserve the prize. Or Holand, or Mbappe.
I just don't believe in these awards anymore, and not because I won the Globe Soccer Awards. It's a fact, there are numbers, and they don't lie. They can't take the [World Top Scorer] trophy away from me because it's real. And that makes me happier because the numbers confirm the facts.
Will Ronaldo ever become the winner of the Ballon d'Or or The Best? We know how other organisations work. Of course, I always think about the club and the national team first. The awards come after a good season at club and national team. Honestly, I don't think about it much," Ronaldo stated.
